Progress Report of Iranai Illupai Kulam Mobile service by Mn Citizen Committee  on 23-03-2012

We conducted our third successful mobile service at Iranai Illupai Kulam GTMS on  25-03-12 Sunday from 9.30 a.m to 4.30 p.m.

Large crowd turned with their  old torn birth, death and  marriage certificate,  Many have lost thire important  documents  during their  displacement. Young & Old marriages even 23 years not registered have been reported.Many mothers with their infants wait in the long que and cleared their individual cases,

The Govt Agent  of Mannar , Adl GA , and Madhu AGA  were  attending some urgent meeting at Colombo & have informed us,

Hon Mannar, Member of Parliament Mr. Vinotheralingam,  inspected the programme as he came  to the adjoining village. The ADR, Local Registrar,JP, GSN ,Principal,  Volunteers, Teachers and our Four Field Officers are the key persons who  facilitated    to this  programme .

Eleven  Unregistered marriages was registered as  a First time, Three new Births was registered,

More than 250 public turned to this mobile out of it, 226 members have  been benefited, where  Madhu AGA division 102  No application was received  for birth, Death & Marriage,  Mannar DS division-03 No.  Jaffna -15 No ,  Kilinochchi -07 No ,  Vavuniya-31 No,  Mullaitivu- 28 No  & Other  Southern districts -16 No ,  Probable Age Certificate -04 No to Mannar  and  06 No for out station were  received by ADR.,

In the coming week  ,our staff  will engage in sorting out these  application  according to different District wise & birth, death & Marriage  wise & will be posting  to  Different ADR Office by Registered post.. Madhu cases will be handed over to ADR Mannar kachcheri.

Inter Religious Forum at Mannar Ganothayam OMI Auditorium.

MANNAR INTER RELIGIOUS FORUM CONDUCTS PEACE & RECONCILIATION AWARENESS PROGRAMME AT MANNAR

On 24-03-2012 Sarvodayam Conducts well attended all four Religious Representatives Forum  for Peace & Reconciliation  meeting at the OMI, Ganothayam center, in Mannar.

Several   Buddhist, Hindu, Catholic and  Muslim representatives and  priest participated and  put their views at the Forum.

Rev Fr. Tamil Nasan chaired the Meeting,  the Civil Affair Army Officer, Ast District Govt Agent, Divisional Secretaries, Govt Officials, NGO representatives, WRDS, RDS, Chairman Of  the  Urban Council  &  several Pradasa Saba members participated.

HUMAN RIGHTS AWARENESS PROGRAMME

CITIZEN COMMITTEE CONDUCTS SEVERAL HUMAN RIGHTS AWARENESS PROGRAMME IN MANNAR RESETTLED VILLAGES


On 18-03-2012 Mannar citizen Committee conducts Citizen Rights awareness Programme at Kungikulam Village in Mannar District. This village is an ancient old village which is having a hanging bridge to cross when Aruvi aru is on spade during rainy season.

Several learnered Lawyers  conducted this programme as  Resource personal and Group Discussion was held,

On 25-03-2012  Documentation Mobile Service will be conducted by Cit Com at Irranai Illupai Kulam ,which is a remote & border village of Mannar District at Madhu AGA division.

 Ast District Registrar, AGA Madhu, JP. GSN, and Several Govt Officials will participate at this Mobile service, Birth, Death, & Marriage certificates will be issued to those public, who failed to obtain them due to their displacement to Mullaiotivu district, and to those   who lost most of their documents at their displacement during the past war.

On 31-03-2012 Another Awareness programme will be conducted At Thalaimannar Village mostly to  those who have  recently arrived from Indian refugees camp to Mannar. So far more than 200 families have arrived by UNHCR & on their own passage to Srilanka ,as peace & calm is prevailing  in Srilanka. 

Several families have lived in India, Tamilnadu for more than 15-25 years have arrived. Their children have born and  married at India. They will have to register their birth, Marriage & Death in Srilanka too. This will be facilitated by Mannar Citizen Committee.

 At Cit Com  last two Mobile service conducted at Alkatively & kalliaddy in the Manthai West AGA division more than 350 people have given  their application for registration of Birth, Death & Marriage. thus Mannar Cit Com facilitate humanitarian services to the War affected public
